STATEMENT OF PURPOSE Computer Science

The notion of pursuing Masters started when I was working on the project LOGON during my undergraduation. ( Is THAT A GAMING ONE? WHAT DID U DO IN THAT? – Avoid CAPS)…The visceral design and development of computer games …. Grabbed the opportunity to work in this burgeoning field through one of the pioneers in gaming industry, EA games. Working on very popular games, Tetris, Fifa Street 3, Sims2, SimCity, Godfather, NFS pro street, Burnout gave me a good exposure to the world of [game design ]. Love of games combined with intellectual challenge of designing them using Artificial Intelligence motivated and kindled my passion to explore further in this field

The professional experience after college helped me develop new techniques in the [world of gaming] and boosted my confidence in managing different level of tasks. Worked on porting games from one mobile to other( revise sentence). Working with other passionate gaming engineers [gave me a chance to work in a team]. I am (confident) that these skills will give me a tremendous edge over the competition and keep me in good stead during the demanding years at your graduate school

My grades throughout my high school and college reflect my aptitude. I can strongly say that getting awarded and recognized in a State Level Science Talent Search Examination during my high school had significant impact to take on [additional challenges]. Expanded my horizons and discovered my inner potential by organizing various science fairs. Eventually, was ranked amongst the top 2% of 10,000 students that appeared for a State Level Engineering Entrance test. Helped me involve in various technical and non-technical( use curricular and extra – curricular) related activities during Undergraduation ( don’t use undergraduation, instead use Bachelor’s degree). Was one of the key members in starting a Computer Science Tech Forum (as part of Computer Society of India Chapter). The forum involved conducting seminars and workshops on Computer assembly and Practical Programming. Organized a workshop on PC assembly and Ethical Hacking for new graduates. These activities helped in improving my inter personal and team management skills. Have given seminars on Cyber and xxx. Was one of the key members in organizing a Cultural Fest and Art Exhibition during my under graduation. Volunteered to donate the funds collected for Art Exhibition to a Child Heart Surgery. From my early childhood till today, my most remarkable characteristics have been my curiosity to learn new topics. My keen interest for learning new ideas, when combined with my inner desire to reach a degree of excellence in every piece of work I perform, enabled me to acquire significant knowledge on various aspects of nature and technology, as well as leading me through a successful educational career.

During my early ages in school, I was introduced to ‘BASIC’ language and on how computers can be used and programmed. From then, I became fascinated about computers and their programming. After I entered the High School, I was made known with languages like ‘C’ and ‘HTML’ on my personal interest. In my second year of High School, I made a laboratory demonstration, in ‘ABC’s Vision' 2002, about Computer Languages and gave lecture on it to my fellows.

Consequently, I took part in a discussion group (Computer Club) of senior high school students and schoolteachers who motivated me to select computer science as my career. Personal satisfaction also plays a key role in my career decision. I enjoy acquiring new skills and information, which help me to adapt to the fast-changing world, as well as pique my interest in innovation. In addition, a career with open prospects would give me constant incentive to improve myself and to gain more knowledge.

The first year lectures of my undergraduate were about freshman courses which I was already familiar with, however, in consequent years, the versatility and facile nature of Computers made it even more interesting and really left me spellbound and enthralled. This solidified my interest in Computer science and exposed me to the enormous potential of this developing field. As the depth of studying about computers increased, it helps me to widen my background in various concepts. I also paid special attention to vital subjects I would deal with in my professional life.

Besides theoretical work, I gained practical knowledge in Computer Science through internships and various project works. My first hands-on experience was in ABCD. of ‘Government of India’ which is the most outstanding telecommunications company and ISP in India. After then, I performed my second practical experience in EFG. of ‘Government of Tamilnadu’. Furthermore, I took project works on various software fields. Currently, I am doing project work for ABC University (ABC.).

These experiences were invaluable for me since I learned the serviceability and functionality of various real world applications. There I grasped the application of computer technologies in various sections. Working in such an outstanding places broadened my vision of Computer Science and how diverse its developmental stages be.

As well as the coursework and practical experience, I try to follow the technological innovations and new design techniques by reading technical periodicals and attending various seminars & conferences. Also, In order to acquire knowledge on this widespread technology, I familiarized myself on them through variety of certification courses.

Aside from the academic life, I like to participate in the social club (Rotaract club) of the college. These social activities have improved my interpersonal skills and enabled me to appreciate the value of how precious it is to participate in an activity whose members come from different backgrounds. Furthermore, I am very keen on giving private lectures to sophomore year students to help them in understanding courses and in forming careers.

My ultimate goal in my career is to make a commendable contribution to the computing world either by starting an innovative venture or doing research which would change the dimensions of future computing and the way we perceive the computers. Now I have determined that a dedicated study on Computer Science will enable me to aggregate all my previous knowledge & experience on the field and encourage in achieving my career goal. I am confident that my academic records and practical knowledge combined with my eagerness to do research exhibit the perseverance and zeal required to pursue a Master’s Degree in your reputed university.

After obtaining my M. S. degree in Computer Science, I plan to pursue Ph. D studies This M. S. Degree would be able to make myself more knowledgeable & technically advanced than my current peers. It would make me better suited to go in for research. Moreover, the technical challenges encountered in the graduate program will provide motivation and opportunity for methodological innovation.

My coursework along with my extensive Computer science background will allow me to function well within the graduate program. I have many ambitions for myself as I embark on this stage of my life. I believe that a graduate study will provide milestone in my career along with invaluable experiences and skills that will allow me to become a successful, innovative professional and gives assistance to accomplish my goals.
